A trip to St. Omer

The church in Esquerdes has an unusual pyramidal steeple. The Opel vectra was pretty nice, if a bit underpowered.

Cathedrale Notre Dame in St. Omer. The town is built up so tight it's tough to get a good wide view of the cathedral.

The tower is being cleaned.

The nave and chancel.

The organ was built in 1717 and rebuilt by Cavaille-Coll in 1855.

The rose window. Note the Fleur-de-lis, symbol of the King of France.

Descent from the Cross by the studio of Ruebens. This painting is about eight feet tall.

St. Omer has some fabulous stained glass windows.
